REVIEWS

No Hugs for Porcupine

Zoe Waring. Running Press Kids, $16.99 (32p) ISBN 978-0-7624-6225-4

Publishers Weekly “Books about the hugging woes of hedgehogs and porcupines are many, but Waring’s story is powerful. Readers will instantly see the forest as a place that has become hidebound in its hugging, and it’s easy to feel the sting of being left out. When Porcupine finds someone who sees the world in a way that plays to his strengths, it’s a game changer.”

Kirkus Reviews “…a kiss is a mighty powerful thing to combat loneliness and exclusion.”

Peeping Beauty.jpg

Peeping Beauty

Brenda Maier, illus. by Zoe Waring. Aladdin, $17.99 (32p) ISBN 978-1-4814-7272-2

Publishers Weekly “Waring illustrates in jewel-toned art, capturing the excitement of a growing family.”

Kirkus Reviews “Waring’s bright, playful digital illustrations augment the text’s humor…”

TRUCK+TRUCK+GOOSE+Cover.jpg

Truck, Truck, GOOSE!

Tammi Sauer, illus. by Zoe Waring. Harper Collins, $17.99 (40p) ISBN 978-0-06-242153-1

Kirkus Reviews “Don’t duck this picture book.”

“A story with limited text, nearly unlimited trucks, a picnicking goose, and a bevy of adorable animals.”

Waring’s bright, digital cartoon illustrations include pleasingly rounded, expressive characters that add great humor to the text, while the illustrated trucks, unnamed by the limited text, invite identification by listeners.”

Twinkle, Twinkle, Unicorn

Jeffrey Burton, illus. by Zoe Waring. Little Simon, $5.99 (16p) ISBN 978-1-5344-3973-3

Publishers Weekly “This sparkly board book puts a unicorn-themed twist on “Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star.” An adorably stocky unicorn with pink cheeks; a candy-colored, yarnlike mane and tail; and a stripy horn engages in unicorn play—flying a kite, “leaping over clouds so high,” and frolicking in an idyllic meadowland.”
